Key Responsibilities- Provide routine and complex nursing care to neonatal patients ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU-level neonates in a Level 4 NICU setting.
- Utilize the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families consistent with level of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications- Active RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.
- Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) Certification — Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor level.
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience.
- Availability to work 4 weekends per six-week period, including two Mondays and two Fridays.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in a Perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, contingency-based clinical situations and make appropriate care assignments and delegations.
