Key Responsibilities Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned NICU patients. Current STABLE (Post-Resuscitation/Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor).

Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation.
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
Current STABLE (Post-Resuscitation/Pre-Transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU or related nursing specialty.
Ability to complete new hire orientation and designated organizational entry competency validation within required timeframes.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience highly preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Recent experience in a perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program preferred.
