Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
- Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, recognizing normal parameters and deviations in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status using a person-centered care approach.
- Develop and prioritize individualized care plans for both expected and unanticipated patient and family needs, involving patients and families in establishing care goals.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions and proactively addressing potential and actual patient care problems.
- Implement technical skills required for the care of patients and families, maintaining current knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, and standards, and serving as a resource to peers.
- Facilitate collaboration across the healthcare team, linking patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed.
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Postpartum experience required; must be able to independently care for mother/baby couplets.
- Ability to practice within the scope of governing bodies applicable to Maternal Child Health (AWHONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
- Demonstrated competence in clinical assessment, care planning, and implementation for maternal and neonatal patient populations.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior NICU nursing experience in addition to Postpartum experience.
- Travel nursing experience with the ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments.
