Registered Nurse Nursing Neonatal Care Permanent Nights 12 hours 2 years of experience required Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts BLS Healthcare Provider NRP Description The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care appropriate to neonates during high-risk deliveries and in a Level-2 nursery. Nursing care is provided in accordance with established philosophy and standards. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care delivered or supervised. The Registered Nurse is responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered. Line responsibility is to the Director of Nursing or designee. The Registered Nurse assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies plans of nursing care for patients and families. The Registered Nurse manages, directs, and supervises the practice of nursing, including the delegation of selected activities to unlicensed assistive personnel within their scope of practice. The Registered Nurse attends appropriate in-service and continuing education programs commensurate with job responsibilities. The Registered Nurse participates in unit or hospital projects that seek to improve patient care. The Registered Nurse represents the organization in a professional manner in interactions with others. The Registered Nurse maintains communication with interdisciplinary practitioners to meet care objectives. The Registered Nurse provides patient and family teaching as appropriate. The Registered Nurse coordinates activities of multiple disciplines to meet the plan of care. The Registered Nurse documents findings and evaluation according to policy. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for attendance according to policy. The Registered Nurse meets requirements for mandatory in-services and programs for safety, emergency, and competency.
