Job Title: RN - Neonatal ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience. Must be comfortable in a high acuity, fast-paced environment. License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRPS Must-Have: Experience with EPIC, EVDs, Camino devices, management of critical care vasoactive drip titration, management of invasive lines, aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, HOFV management, oral/nasal suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation and analgesic drip management, foley insertion and management, Alaris and Medfusion pump management, bedside procedures with providers, discharge skills, CRRT experience, baby side of ECMO. Description: The role requires managing patients in a neonatal intensive care unit. The unit has 53 beds plus overflow with an average patient census of 58. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, congenital heart defects, seizures, and necrotizing enterocolitis, among others. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3. Support within the department includes a unit secretary, charge nurse, resource nurse, intensivist, in-house residents, and advanced practice providers. There are also unit-based educators and clinical supervisors available. Equipment used includes EMR systems, IV pumps, monitors, and breast milk scanning technology. The schedule requires working two Fridays and two Mondays along with every other weekend. Travelers will work holidays as scheduled, including the eve and/or day of the holiday and every other holiday during the contract period. The dress code includes wearing solid navy or white scrubs, with guidelines for jewelry and artificial nails. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork, trust, accountability, respect, and compassion.
