Job Title: NICU RN Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years NICU experience required License: Required License, National Certification Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Level 3 NICU experience Description: We are a fast-paced Level IV NICU. We care for infants from 23 weeks and beyond, with varying degrees of acuity. The manager will be interviewing. Census: average daily census of 71. Patient Types/Common Diagnoses include 23-week to term infants and surgical needs such as NEC and CDH. Skills required include basic ventilator management, central line management, pre/post-surgical management, tracheostomy management, G-tube management, basic breastfeeding skills, bottle feeding skills, gavage feeding management, blood transfusion, and infant venous stick skills. Support within the department includes Nursing Assistants with a 1:20 ratio and two Charge RNs each shift. Travelers can expect weekend rotation every other week as a minimum, with no call required. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Floating may occur to general pediatrics, PICU, adolescent pediatrics, and pediatric hematology/oncology. Scrub color is royal blue.
