Description:
The Client Infant Unit has 24 beds with a staff of 71.
The team consists of day shift labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretaries, leadership, and educators.
Night shift also includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretaries.
Patient ratios are typically 1:1 for labor, 5-6:1 for postpartum, and 5-6:1 for nursery.
Typical procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, care for antepartum patients, and newborn and postpartum care.
Fetal monitoring is conducted using GE fetal monitors and electronic medical record systems.
Every third weekend is required along with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule.
