Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations across two floors
• Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis exchanges, catheter/line placements, and psychiatric presentations
• Utilize telemetry equipment to monitor patient cardiac status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Document accurately and efficiently within the MEDITECH electronic health record system
• Float as a second nurse to Telemetry and the Emergency Department as needed
• Adhere to scheduling requirements to meet unit staffing needs, including every other weekend coverage

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Ability to manage patient ratios of up to 6:1 or 7:1 on a 22-bed unit
• Must meet travel requirements (60 miles or greater from facility to qualify as a travel candidate)

• Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system strongly preferred
• Prior experience floating to Telemetry or Emergency Department settings
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, family-oriented unit culture

• Work at a Joint Commission Accredited facility offering a broad range of specialty services including cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, and surgical services
• Enjoy a desirable location approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, within close proximity to major universities, coastal destinations, and recreational areas
