Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Rotating shifts possible (2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–7 on days and 1:6–8 on nights
- Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and fall/weakness presentations
- Titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix as required (cardiac drip titration not required)
- Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy staff who manage breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow O2; RN role is to monitor respiratory status
- Work alongside patient care techs and a telemetry monitoring team; monitor tech reads and interprets telemetry strips and notifies nursing staff of concerns
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including every other weekend, potential holiday rotation, and floating to Medical Surgical, MS-Tele, or IMC units for lower acuity patients as needed
Required Qualifications- Active, unrestricted RN license (any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Valid, unexpired driver's license (copy required at time of submission)
- Ability to work within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Willingness to float to other units and maintain scheduling flexibility to fill gaps in the permanent schedule
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience with drip titration (heparin, diuretics) in a Medical Surgical setting
- CNA certification or willingness to complete PCT training
- Experience working with telemetry-monitored patients
