Level II Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs | No straight shift schedules
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent patient care in a Medical Surgical float capacity based on established clinical standards
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as directed by unit needs
- Serve as a preceptor for new or less experienced nursing staff
- Participate in committee membership and contribute to unit-level initiatives
- Incorporate evidence-based practice and research into daily clinical care
- Uphold service excellence and professional development standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New York State license required
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
- Experience in a charge nurse or preceptor role
