Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, rotating holidays
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:6 (occasional 1:7 with surge)
- Perform procedures including CBI, wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt, etc.), Foley insertion, and central line dressing changes
- Monitor telemetry and perform EKGs as needed
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse electronic health records system
- Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections in accordance with patient experience standards
- Float to units of the same level of care per facility floating policy
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS certification
- IV certification required
- Medical Surgical clinical experience
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Meditech Expanse documentation system
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a Med-Surg environment
- Experience with self-scheduling in a hospital unit setting
