Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, written plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
- Deliver patient-centered care focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practice within a fast-paced 28-bed Medical Surgical unit.
- Utilize clinical pathways, patient education, and SBAR communication to address all aspects of patient care.
- Demonstrate effective time management and assist team members to contribute to overall unit performance.
- Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model, supporting a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education, certification, and literature review.
Required Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of straight Medical Surgical RN experience (not float, SDU, or telemetry).
- Level I or Level II Trauma experience required.
- Active Michigan RN license (LARA and Nursys verification required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with diverse surgical patient populations including general, vascular, bariatric, plastic surgery, and stroke patients.
