Registered Nurse - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Omaha, NE

Start Date: 04-13-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM 

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehab setting
  • Assess and monitor patients' clinical status, communicate changes, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medications and therapies as ordered; document care accurately in EPIC
  • Support care for common rehab diagnoses including stroke, spinal cord injury, amputee care and brain injury
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers and support staff to create and follow individualized care plans
  • Float to MedSurg as needed and assist unit needs while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
  • Participate in unit orientation, pass competency assessments, and mentor unit staff and patient care techs
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong experience with inpatient rehabilitation and medical-surgical nursing
  • Familiarity with EPIC charting system
  • Clinical knowledge of stroke, SCI, BI, amputee care and neurological diseases (MS, Parkinson's)
  • Understanding of common medication classes used on the unit (antibiotics, anticoagulation, antiplatelets)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with and delegate to patient care techs; maintain professional standards (fingernail/artificial nail policy applies)
