Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patient populations
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6, with the possibility of a 1:6 ratio at least once per week
- Administer and monitor titratable Heparin drips as required; collaborate with 24-hour on-floor Respiratory Therapy staff
- Monitor telemetry in coordination with a centralized telemetry station
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Float to PCU or Burn units as operationally needed
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid driver's license (required at time of submittal)
- Ability to pass an open-book skills assessment with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, orthopedic, or similar acute care setting
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and Heparin drip management
- Experience working alongside patient care technicians in a team-based care model
