Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patient populations
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:5–6 ratio, with nurse aide support available at a 1:10–12 ratio
• Administer and monitor titratable Heparin drips as required; collaborate with 24-hour on-floor Respiratory Therapy staff
• Monitor patients via telemetry, utilizing both bedside and centralized telemetry station resources
• Work alongside a Charge Nurse present on each shift; float to PCU or Burn unit as needed
• Adhere to facility infection control policies, including artificial nail prohibition in all patient care areas

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Ability to pass a facility orientation competency exam with a score of 90% or higher (open book)
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed; no on-call or standby requirement
• Must not be concurrently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, PCU, or orthopedic nursing environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and Heparin drip management
• Experience working in units with 1:5–6 patient ratios

• Structured orientation program including classroom training and supervised floor shifts to support a smooth transition onto the unit
• Supportive unit environment with 24-hour Respiratory Therapy coverage, dedicated Charge Nurse leadership each shift, and available patient care technicians
