Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients, based on scientific nursing principles
  • Consult and coordinate with the health care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; report adverse reactions in accordance with facility policy
  • Monitor and adjust specialized patient care equipment; interpret and record electronic displays and vital signs; initiate corrective action when adverse symptomatology is observed
  • Initiate and carry out patient and family education plans as prescribed, including post-treatment home care instruction and management of illness or injury
  • Perform bedside care duties including dressing changes, catheter insertion, IV starts, and participation in discharge planning; accurately document all care in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
  • Active Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Medical Surgical nursing
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required — must be issued through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Previous experience working in a community hospital setting, either in a permanent or contract capacity
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
