Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and develop or update individualized plans of care
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems and perform bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care or high-risk discharge planning
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Medical Surgical nursing experience highly preferred
• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
