Job Title
Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)
LocationFrankfort, Kentucky
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend | 13-Week Assignment | Projected Start: 05/04/2026
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring and EKG readings
- Manage CPAP, port access, post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention care, and paracentesis support
- Operate unit equipment including GE Apex Pro Telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, Alaris PCA IV pump, Hoyer lift, and Welch Allyn Vitals machines
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse electronic health record system
- Float as needed to post-surgical Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit for telemetry overflow coverage
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; compact license accepted where applicable
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required
- BLS certification required
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be certified annually)
Preferred Experience / Skills- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound VAC, surgical drains, and central lines
- Post-dialysis assessment skills and blood transfusion experience
