    Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36–48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF population
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and apply strong critical thinking skills to manage complex and changing patient conditions
    • Manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foley catheters, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
    • Float within skillset to alternate campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records system
    • May be required to precept nursing students and new-hire staff as part of a teaching hospital environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active compact RN license
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • NIHSS certification
    • Minimum 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience
    • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
    • Trauma Level II experience
    • Recent Epic charting experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work resiliently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with care teams
    • Experience with remote telemetry and advanced Med-Surg skill sets including tracheostomy care and PCA management
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented, professional approach
