Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and provide patient and family education across medical, surgical, orthopedic, and occasional behavioral health populations
- Administer medications and perform wound care in accordance with facility protocols
- Manage clinical procedures including chest tube management, trach care, and assistance with paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Monitor telemetry patients and manage patient admissions and discharges
- Utilize electronic health record and unit equipment including Epic, AccuDose medication system, Hoyer Lift, Overbed Lift, Space Labs Vitals Machines, and glucometers
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety
Required Qualifications- Active Minnesota RN License
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical unit
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to monitor telemetry patients
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and assigned holidays
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate proactively when assistance is needed
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for orthopedic patients
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records and AccuDose medication dispensing systems
- Experience with behavioral health patients presenting with medical needs
