Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry. Experience with remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols. Ability to provide colostomy care and manage feeding tubes. Experience in pre/post hemodialysis management and central line blood draws. Skills in starting IVs, wound care, and isolation precautions. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in cancellation. Travelers must be prepared to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Expected to float to other units based on skill set and unit needs. Target patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5 to 1:6. Contract can range from 13 to 26 weeks. Must be available to work weekends, with 12 to 16 shifts required per contract. Daily patient diagnoses may include dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures. Isolation procedures are in place for COVID patients. Unit supports include IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Standard documentation and medication systems are used. Testing for EKG proficiency must be completed before the start of the contract. Travelers will not be allowed to work more than 5 days in a row or exceed 60 hours in a week. Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, with hours varying by specialty.
