Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med Surg) | Days & Nights Available | Local & Travel
United Health Care Staffing is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week Medical Surgical (Med Surg) contract at a respected Critical Access Hospital in Hamilton, New York. Both day and night shifts are available, and local as well as travel candidates are welcome to apply.
Position Details:
- Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
- Location: Hamilton, NY
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with high possibility of extension)
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 guaranteed hours/week)
- Shift Options: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) & Nights Available (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- No On-Call Required
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical patients.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Sorian EMR system.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

- CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
- COPD
- Syncope
- Non-STEMI
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Wound Care
- Total Hip Replacement (THR)
- Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
- Lumbar Surgery
- General Surgery
- COVID-19
- Rare Pediatric Patients
Requirements:
- Active RN License
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience
- Previous travel experience required
- BLS Certification (Required)
- ACLS & PALS (Preferred)
- Experience with Sorian EMR preferred
