Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Clinical Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience License: Active state RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Current Trauma 1 experience EPIC experience Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients through the utilization of the nursing process. Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs. They implement plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies plans of care based on continuous evaluation. They take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communication with others directly and in private when necessary is essential to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. They identify their learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions. All departmental competencies must be fulfilled. Department Specific Job Functions: The RN may float to various inpatient units, including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs, if applicable. They provide direct nursing care while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care to various patient populations. The RN conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Precepting staff from various units may be required. They coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate and provide the highest possible quality patient care. Required Skills & Experience: Current Trauma 1 experience is mandatory. EPIC experience is mandatory. Knowledge of nursing processes, documentation, patient assessment, plan of care development, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures is essential. Continuous evaluation, oncology care, orthopedic care, advanced care, and ICU care competencies are required. The RN must demonstrate safety reporting and resolution of safety hazards. Effective communication and constructive feedback skills are necessary for professional development and knowledge expansion.
