Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of recent experience required License: Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, CPI preferred Must-Have: Nurse to patient ratios of 1:6 Experience with Epic charting Ability to float to like units as needed Must be able to work weekends (6 shifts within a 6-week period) Description: Registered Nurse position available in a Medical Surgical unit. The schedule offers a 36 or 48-hour work option. Anything over 48 hours is considered overtime. BLS certification is required, and CPI certification is preferred. Nurse to patient ratios are set at 1:6. Rapid response team activation is part of the role. Recent experience in a medical-surgical setting is required. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Familiarity with Epic charting is necessary. No call duty is required. Floating to like units may be necessary based on facility needs. Weekend shifts are part of the schedule, requiring 6 shifts within a 6-week period. The unit has a total of 32 beds with a daily census of approximately 32 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. The unit provides care for adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Previous charge experience is valued. Experience with patient care skills such as blood product administration, IV management, and wound care is essential. The position does not require call duty or additional weekend coverage beyond set shifts. Orientation and training will be provided, with modules completed onsite. All required documentation must be submitted upon application.
