The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver.
The RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated timeframe.
The RN provides care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
The RN completes initial assessments upon patient admission.
The RN develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety.
The RN communicates with others directly to resolve issues.
The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers.
The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base.
The RN identifies their own learning needs and takes initiative to address them.
The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
The RN floats to various inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, and ICUs.
The RN provides direct nursing care and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members.
The RN conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
The RN precepts staff from various units as needed.
The RN coordinates care with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate high-quality patient care.
