Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. This role ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The nurse practices in a clinical environment managed by nurse managers and supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies stem from these models and are supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing per the applicable state practice act. They implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards outlined by the relevant nursing association.
