Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN licensure Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; experience with telemetry monitoring Description: Join our dedicated team in a 16-bed unit. You will provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population. We maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. This ensures high-quality, personalized care in a supportive environment. Key responsibilities include delivering compassionate nursing care to patients with various medical conditions. Conditions include respiratory issues, cellulitis, congestive heart failure, and surgical cases such as colon resections and orthopedic procedures. Monitor patients using telemetry. RNs are responsible for interpreting their own strips. Collaboration with a small team is essential. The team includes a clinical care coordinator and a charge nurse who actively takes patient assignments. Assistance from a house supervisor is available on weekends. You may assist in outpatient infusions as needed, though experience is preferred. We are seeking candidates who are team-oriented. A strong focus on thorough charting is essential due to our commitment to quality care. Expect a high turnover of patients with frequent admissions and discharges throughout the day. Support staff includes 1 CNA for assistance. Equipment includes access to high-flow oxygen and Vapotherm. More complex respiratory support is transferred to ICU. Enjoy scheduling flexibility, with shifts posted 6 weeks in advance. Weekend commitment is required every other or every third weekend. There are no mandatory holiday requirements, but volunteers are appreciated. No call requirements are present, though volunteer opportunities are available. Dress code includes pewter scrub tops with black shoes and pants. Colored tops are acceptable if layered with a pewter outer garment.
