Spinal cord injury experience required. Post-operative surgical drains experience required. Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts. The average daily census for the unit is 22 patients. The role requires a minimum of two years' experience. New graduates or first-timers will not be considered. Weekend work is required, with a commitment to working every other weekend. The clinician will float to other units within the scope as needed. Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager. Active state license must be in hand to apply. The nurse must have skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Required skills include managing telemetry, remote monitoring, and rapid response teams. Gastrointestinal case skills like colostomy care and feeding tube management are essential. The nurse should have experience with renal management and hemodialysis pre/post care. IV therapy skills are necessary, including blood product administration and PICC line management. Experience with medication administration such as heparin, insulin, and PCA is required. Neurological and psychiatric case skills, particularly related to spinal cord injuries, are necessary. Experience in orthopedic trauma is required, along with familiarity with surgical drains. Respiratory case skills including CPAP/BiPAP management and tracheostomy management are essential. The professional must be knowledgeable about isolation precautions and wound care. This position offers a robust learning environment to gain interdisciplinary care experience. The nurse will develop skills in medication administration, bedside procedures, and patient education. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
