Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required. License: Must have active state license in hand to apply. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Med/Surg experience required. Required skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Telemetry experience required. Gastrointestinal experience required, including colostomy care and feeding tube management. Genitourinary experience required, including pre/post hemodialysis management. IV therapy and phlebotomy experience required. Medication administration experience required, including heparin, insulin, and PCA. Neurological experience required, including spinal cord injuries. Orthopedic trauma experience required. Experience with surgical drains required. Respiratory experience required, including CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy management. Description: Position for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. 3x12 night shifts available. Average daily census of 22 patients. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates are expected to work every other weekend. No on-call requirements exist. Floating to other units within scope is expected to meet facility needs. Block schedules can be discussed with management. RTO restrictions ideally specify no more than 5 days. Guaranteed hours may allow for call-offs. Penalties apply for cancellations beyond permitted hours. Various case skills are required, including telemetry and rapid response teams. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in wound care and isolation precautions. Team collaboration with interdisciplinary members is vital. The patient population includes individuals requiring elective surgeries and management of chronic wounds. The average length of stay varies based on patient needs, ranging from 2 to 30 days. Nurses will develop skills in areas such as medication management, bedside procedures, and patient education.
