This is a night shift position starting at 18:45. The unit consists of 23 beds. The minimum experience required is one year. First-time travelers are accepted. The candidate will work every other weekend. The clinician will float as needed to meet facility requirements. Block scheduling may be accommodated upon discussion with the manager. No local radius restrictions apply. RTO restrictions ideally should not exceed five days. The facility requires the BLS and NIHSS certifications. Candidates must have experience in PICC line management and starting IVs. Charge experience is preferred. Cerner experience is also preferred. The facility operates as an acute care hospital and is a Magnet facility. The total number of staffed beds is 562. Common patient diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, subdural hematoma, brain mass, seizures, back and neck surgeries, craniotomies, and neurological disorders. Medications administered include Levetiracetam, Lorazepam, Aspirin, Lovenox, Heparin, antihypertensives, Plavix, Atorvastatin, and Eliquis. Special procedures performed in the unit include electroencephalograms (EEG) and lumbar punctures. The hospital is a Level I trauma center. Candidate responsibilities may include administering drips like Heparin. Amiodarone and Lasix are not titrated in this unit.
