Description:
The position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical and Surgical care.
The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients with medical, surgical, and orthopedic diagnoses.
The unit has a capacity of 42 beds with nurse-patient ratios of 1:5-6.
Staff members are expected to work under a charge nurse who will also take an assignment.
Respiratory Therapy is available 24 hours on the floor.
Centralized Telemetry monitoring is present, with telemeters located on the floor.
Patient Care Technicians are available with ratios of 1:10-12.
Shifts run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Weekend and holiday work are required as needed.
No call or standby duties are required for this position.
Floating to Progressive Care Units or Burn Units may be necessary.
Scrub color is navy blue, and candidates are expected to follow policy guidelines.
Fingernails must comply with the facility's policy on artificial nails.
A pass/fail exam during orientation is mandatory, with a minimum score required to continue in the position.
Request for time off must be submitted upfront.
The hospital reserves the right to cancel a limited number of shifts during the assignment.
Charting will be done using specified electronic health record systems.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing is not required for this position.
