Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 5 years License: MO or compact required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: Will need to pass an EKG exam. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required. Experience with Med/Surg, blood product administration, and peripheral line care/management. Experience with starting IVs, insulin administration, PCA, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic trauma. Experience with total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions. Wound care and wound vac experience required. Experience managing geriatric trauma patients. Description: The position requires an experienced registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The nurse will work night shifts, with a focus on trauma and acute care surgery patients. Patient ratios on the unit will be 1:4-6. The nurse will be responsible for administering medications, managing patient care, and providing support for diverse patient needs. Knowledge in monitoring and interpreting vital signs is essential. The nurse will utilize various medical equipment, including lifts, restraints, and wound vacs. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is expected to facilitate optimal patient care.
