Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care to join our team in Lancaster, Ohio. This role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care within a dynamic hospital environment, focusing on adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care. This includes supervising co-workers and delegating appropriate tasks, ensuring all duties are performed in strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
- Provide high-quality care based on patient assessment needs and established care plans or pathways.
- Deliver comprehensive education to patients and their families/significant others from admission through the discharge process.
- Maintain thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process and patient care pathway.
- Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status promptly.
- Administer medications and perform treatments accurately and safely.
- Implement physician orders as written and within scope of practice.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care and report any malfunctions to the appropriate department.
- Accept responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited nursing program, resulting in one of the following:
- Diploma in Nursing
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

- Previous Registered Nursing experience.

- **Physical Demands:** Ability to perform heavy work, occasionally exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force, frequently 25 to 50 pounds of force, and constantly 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects. Frequent patient handling activity is required.
