Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13-26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience required - Traveler experience accepted - Skills in teamwork approach to patient care - Focus on patient safety Description: This role is in a neuro unit. RTO after booking is not allowed and must not be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO in the unit may result in cancellation. Staff will be assigned to and expected to work during disaster events. Staff may be required to report to work during a mass casualty or disaster. The patient diagnoses focus on general medicine, specifically neuro. Patient ratios are 1:6. Weekend requirement includes 5-6 shifts per contract. Contract staff may be assigned to a storm team or hurricane team. Candidates must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations. Must adhere to the call-off policy, which is strictly enforced. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as outlined. Required certifications include ACLS and BLS. Preferred certifications include NIH experience. Experience in neuro is preferred but not mandatory. Charting and documentation systems utilized in the unit include specific software. Management of dysrhythmias and isolation precautions are essential skills. Candidates should have experience in telemetry and starting IVs. Traveler float requirements apply, and floating is expected when necessary. The daily census typically consists of 24 patients. Number of beds in the unit is 24. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams, including pharmacy, therapy, and social services. Preferred scheduling includes working two of three major holidays. Initial testing must be completed within 48 hours of acceptance.
