The Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Stay Unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to surgical patients requiring short-term post-operative monitoring and treatment. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Responsibilities include monitoring post-surgical patients, administering medications, managing pain control, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, documenting accurately in Epic EMR, and ensuring patient safety and compliance with hospital policies. Previous charge experience is required. The RN may be asked to float to units within their skill set based on hospital needs. No on-call required. Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit schedule, but is not guaranteed.
