Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and licensed nursing assistants available for both shifts. Type of equipment includes telemetry. Documentation system utilized is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays. Floating policy allows for floating to the same level of care. Patient experience initiatives include bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections. Advanced skills required include IV certification. Procedures performed on the unit consist of CBI, wound care, drain management, foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and EKGs as needed. Dress code includes scrubs of any color. Self-scheduling is available, though leadership reserves the right to communicate the need to balance schedules.
