Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care - Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Preferred, ACLS Preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in a high acuity environment - Experience with diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, and dialysis management - Patient safety awareness and commitment to quality care - Ability to handle high patient ratios and turnover - Experience in primary care nursing Description: Seeking an experienced registered nurse for an acute care medical surgical position. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in the specialty area. The unit provides care for a variety of conditions, including diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, and renal failure. Nurses should be comfortable managing post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridement, wound care, DVTs, and ETOH withdrawals. There will be a patient ratio of 6:1 during both day and night shifts. All nurses must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment. The facility has a strict attendance policy and high standards for patient care and safety. Nursing staff will need to comply with uniform policies and personal grooming standards. Bringing personal items to the nurses’ station is not permitted. Nurses will work every other weekend and rotate with permanent staff. The charting system used is MEDITECH. BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; ACLS is preferred.
