Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience required Must have travel experience Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical care. The candidate will work on a unit that provides care to orthopedic and medical surgical patients. Candidates will be responsible for providing care to patients from adulthood through geriatrics. High volume patient populations include those who have had total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and other surgical procedures. Moderate volume patient populations include medical patients and 24-hour observation patients. Candidates will be required to work every other weekend, encompassing both Saturday and Sunday shifts. Charge RN shifts will be assigned as needed. The unit offers telemetry monitoring and has a physical therapy gym for patient rehabilitation. RNs are expected to maintain a patient ratio of 5-6. Floating to other units may occur as necessary. A pass/fail EKG exam is required prior to beginning compliance. Candidates must demonstrate skills in various nursing procedures and patient management. Responsibilities also include the administration of blood products, care for central lines, and telemetry management. The nursing environment involves teamwork, interdisciplinary support, and a dedication to patient care. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to attendance policies. Barriers that may prevent compliance completion must be disclosed prior to consideration. Responsive communication and commitment to patient-centered care are essential. All nursing staff are expected to maintain the highest standard of professionalism.
