Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, CRRN preferred, CPI Blue Cert highly preferred Must-Have: Experience in Medical Surgical and Rehabilitation settings Skilled in peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions Description: The Registered Nurse will work in an inpatient rehabilitation and medical surgical setting. Shift hours include three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Charting experience in an electronic health record system is preferred. The nurse may be required to work every other weekend or six weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling block. They must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract. The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1:6, potentially flexing to 1:7. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations, and multi-trauma cases. The unit has 33 adult medical surgical beds, with no telemetry. The Registered Nurse is expected to float to other medical surgical units as needed. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. Compliance with health and safety standards is mandatory, including vaccination requirements.
