Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Care Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of PCU/Stepdown/ICU experience required. Travelers must have ICU experience. PCU nurses will float to the ICU unit. Previous charge experience preferred. Travel experience preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS required. BLS required. NIHSS required. Must-Have: Must be comfortable floating between Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units. 50-mile radius requirement must be confirmed. Scrubs required in royal blue and white. COVID-19 vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed. Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed. Description: This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to ICU and MedSurg units. Candidates must be comfortable in both environments. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 for Stepdown, 1:2 for ICU, and 1:5-6 for MedSurg. Floating is required and will occur within the facility. Daily census typically involves adult patients with conditions including CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, and post-cardiac procedures. The unit utilizes a variety of equipment including BiPAP and telemetry devices. Skills required include managing ports, cardiac telemetry, IV administration, and wound care. Caring for patients will involve various procedures such as peritoneal dialysis and post-cardiac interventions. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Floating may be required across units according to patient needs. This position requires adherence to the standards of care and other facility policies.
