Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, CPI preferred Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Ability to take insulin and heparin drips Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancellation. Must be able to work holidays. There is a possibility of taking care of COVID patients. Traveler will be assigned to an inclement weather team. Charge role is required for night travelers. Unit accepts first-time travelers. Travelers from the local area are accepted. Target ratios are 1:6-7. 36 or 48 hours per week are accepted. If working 48 hours, no overtime will be billed until after 48 hours completed. Call is required if scheduled for a prescheduled shift. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations may occur with inpatient holds. Travelers will be assigned to every other weekend. Contract staff may be required to report to work during mass casualties or disasters. Daily census is approximately 43, caring for adults and geriatrics. Procedures include insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high flow oxygen. There are no PCU-level patients on this unit. Unit systems include PYXIS and EPIC for medication documentation and communication. Scrubs are not provided. Candidates must have EKG testing completed prior to starting in this specialty.
