Job Title: Medical Surgical Float Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Nursing license required (pending license accepted) Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience with a patient ratio of 1:6 - Ability to float to other medical surgical units as needed - Weekend coverage required every other weekend - Skills in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line management, and telemetry monitoring Description: Position available for a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6. Nurses will float to various medical surgical units as necessary. Successful candidates must be comfortable with weekend shifts every other weekend. BLS certification is a must. Nurses will need to manage care for adult and geriatric patients. The unit supports various interdisciplinary services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Experience in wound care, phlebotomy, and tracheostomy management is preferred. Candidates must be able to provide quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Teamwork and effective communication skills are essential for success in this position. All requirements must be fulfilled to ensure compliance and quality care delivery.
