Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience; 2+ years of Medical-Surgical experience highly preferred. License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Must-Have: Competence in patient care, patient assessment, care planning, and point-of-care testing. Description: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports to the Nurse Manager or Director. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers. Evaluates care by identifying expected patient outcomes. Seeks guidance when needed in the revision of the plan of care. Participates in discussions with the interdisciplinary team in the evaluation of patient care. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Demonstrates competence in the care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care. Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required.
