Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care. Meet established Standards of Nursing Practice. Promote cooperation among the health care team. Assure patients' personal needs are met. Assist in reducing noise levels on the nursing unit. Demonstrate commitment to co-workers and team collaboration. Maintain patient, co-worker, and hospital privacy. Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and legible. Deliver clear and concise reports. Complete all assigned quality monitors as directed by the department manager. Follow infection control guidelines. Identify abnormal diagnostic data and report to the appropriate person. Provide necessary information needed for timely discharge planning to the appropriate personnel. Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to effectively function in emergency situations. Accurately administer and chart medications according to hospital policies and procedures while adhering to patients' rights. Implement and support planned education and documentation efforts. Assess patients' educational needs. Assist in the development and education of new staff members. Attend and participate in staff meetings. Complete education, training, and competencies for department-specific skills. Adapt to changes in the unit, environment, and workflow. Ensure all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly. Utilize department resources appropriately. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
