Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Epic Hardstop experience Previous Charge Experience preferred Patient ratio experience of 1:5 Description: The position requires a registered nurse to float between units as needed. Weekends are required, with a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. Charting will be conducted using Epic. The expected patient ratios are approximately 1:5. Special requirements include Epic Hardstop proficiency. The facility is a short-term acute care center with a total of 379 staffed beds. The nursing team will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. The average daily census is reflective of acute care surgery and emergency general surgery cases. Nurses will participate in interdisciplinary support with various teams including physical therapy and respiratory services. Teamwork and flexibility are essential as staff may float to other units when necessary. Compliance with hospital dress code is required, favoring solid navy blue uniforms for licensed nursing personnel. All candidates should demonstrate a range of medical-surgical competencies, including administering blood products and managing feeding tubes. Experience with trauma-level care is preferred but not mandatory. Nurses will need to commit to a schedule, working 3 of the 5 major holidays during the contract period. The role demands effective communication skills and the ability to respond to rapid changes in patient conditions. References will be required prior to the start of the position.
