Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: RN Medical/Surgical Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 13.5 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Certification Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. This department serves adult patients and does have telemetry capability. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.
