This unit provides care to young adults through geriatric patients with general medical and surgical needs. It also offers renal and bariatric surgery services. Telemetry services are available on this unit. Patient Ratio/Census: 1:5-6 with an average daily census of 20 patients in a unit with 33 beds. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The role involves providing care to a diverse patient population in a medical surgical and renal setting. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. Staffing includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, and unit secretaries. The nurse must comply with all onboarding requirements prior to starting. Working holidays may be required based on the assigned schedule. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, including weekends and potential floating to different units as needed. Essential skills include management of peripheral lines and non-invasive airway management. Isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment are part of the daily responsibilities.
