Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIH preferred Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. The shift will consist of three 12-hour night shifts. Weekend requirements include 4-5 shifts per 4-week period as well as a holiday rotation. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Travelers will need to float within scope to meet facility needs and may float between similar units. This unit specializes in the care of adult and geriatric patients with various neurological conditions. The unit accommodates a variety of diagnoses, including stroke, epilepsy, and neuromuscular diseases. All patient rooms are private, and the unit includes specialized monitoring capabilities for specific neurological conditions. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should not confirm new assignments during the hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Candidates must complete all compliance requirements in a timely manner prior to starting. It is necessary for travelers to have their South Carolina RN license or proof of application for the license prior to being cleared to report. RTO must be indicated at the time of submission. This position may require specific skills such as non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration. The unit is designed to support interdisciplinary care and management of patients undergoing neurosurgical interventions.
