Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Travel experience - Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays Description: Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Documents thoroughly as care is delivered, following regulatory and hospital requirements. Assumes responsibility for clinical competencies and professional development of self and others. Practices in a clinical environment through application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Must utilize good judgment and demonstrate patience. Utilizes best practices for patient care as expected by department leaders. Maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Works in a busy, stressful work environment. Adapts to practice changes to meet new patient safety requirements, goals, or objectives. Possesses computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software. Exhibits organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage workload expectations. Demonstrates effective interpersonal verbal communication and advanced math skills. Shows creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making abilities. Patient Diagnoses: Sepsis, CIWA, confusion, AMS, COPD, post-operative care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications. Daily patient ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients on all shifts. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
