Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Travel experience preferred Description: Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in various age groups. Documents thoroughly as care is delivered, following regulatory and hospital requirements. Assumes responsibility for clinical competencies and professional development of self and others. Practices in a clinical environment through application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. Utilizes good judgment and demonstrates patience in patient care as expected. Maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Works in a busy and stressful environment with practice changes to meet new patient safety requirements. Computer skills required include Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload. Possesses interpersonal verbal communication and advanced math skills. Brings creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making abilities to the role. Patient diagnoses may include sepsis, confusion, respiratory failure, and various other medical conditions. Experience with patient care areas such as managing bowel obstructions, central lines, and postoperative care is desirable. Ratio of nursing staff to patients is 1:6. Must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary support. Expected to engage in special procedures and manage a range of medical equipment as required. Flexibility in weekend coverage is necessary, with an expected number of shifts per pay period.
